About the Role As a Senior Welding Quality Specialist, you will serve as a technical authority ensuring that all fabrication processes meet rigorous industry standards and internal quality benchmarks. You will leverage your expertise in AWS codes and metallurgical principles to drive operational excellence, mentor welding personnel, and maintain the integrity of our production output. Responsibilities Author and manage Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) to ensure full compliance with AWS and AAR standards. Perform comprehensive inspections of welded joints, evaluating penetration, bead formation, and dimensional accuracy against complex blueprints. Drive continuous improvement by conducting thorough process and product audits, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions. Mentor and certify shop floor personnel, fostering a culture of high-quality craftsmanship and safety. Analyze production data to identify trends in defect rates and recommend strategic process adjustments to improve yield. Maintain meticulous records of welder certifications and audit findings to ensure audit-readiness at all times. Qualifications Required Skills Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential. 5+ years of professional experience in interpreting and applying complex welding codes. Advanced proficiency in blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning. Strong technical writing skills for the creation of reports and standard operating procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects independently. Preferred Skills Experience with data analysis tools and MS Office Suite for quality reporting. Background in metallurgical testing and failure analysis. Proven track record of developing and delivering technical training programs for industrial staff.
