Associate Scientist (DSC/TGA/FTIR/SEM/Material Characterization)
Location:
Saint Paul, MN Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30
PM Pay Rate:
$38/hr Job Summary We are seeking an Associate Scientist to support materials characterization activities within a fast-paced laboratory environment. This role focuses on polymer materials analysis using thermal and analytical techniques to support medical device development projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent technical communication skills. Key Responsibilities Perform materials characterization using DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, and related analytical techniques. Conduct laboratory testing and analysis to support medical device project teams. Partner with scientists and cross-functional teams to develop test plans and execute studies. Analyze data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports. Document experiments and results in electronic laboratory notebook systems following GMP requirements. Maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple assignments and deadlines. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. 1-3 years of laboratory experience in materials characterization. Experience operating analytical instrumentation such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, or similar equipment. Strong problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced laboratory environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with polymer characterization and structure-property relationships. Knowledge of Trios, Omnic, and LabVantage ELN systems. Experience working in regulated environments and documenting work according to GMP guidelines.
