Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Metallurgical Lab Technician to join our team. At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the worlds most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Met lab technician. As part of the team, the successful candidate will be a team player adding to our already, diverse, yet rewarding working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a background in process mining and metals.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will safely and efficiently perform: Assist in Metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans, preparing, and analyzing samples Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment used in the process facility Stocking of laboratory supplies Assists in reviewing new or enhanced Metallurgical testing equipment or protocols Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment Logs samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and processes results into spreadsheets. Performs other duties as required (XRD, SEM, MLA and optical microscopy possible)

Qualifications:

Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in Metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses preferred Able to collect samples, process and accurately report on results required Working ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions required Strong organizational skills to manage high sample volumes efficiently - required Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards required Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical and laboratory testwork.
