Freelance Quality Engineer Buffalo / Type of contract 1099 RKBUSE26 Pro QC International North America Buffalo, NY Job Details Part-time $30 - $34 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Fabrication Customer communication Welding inspection Non-destructive testing Mechanical fabrication Mechanical drawings Welding Welding Full Job Description Position Summary Expeditor/Mechanical Inspection professional responsible for monitoring supplier and manufacturing progress, following up on production activities, and supporting quality inspections for mechanical equipment. The role requires knowledge of welding, NDT, technical drawings, fabrication, and supplier surveillance, preferably within EPC and oil and gas projects. Technical Skills Expediting and supplier follow-up Welding inspection knowledge NDT awareness Manufacturing progress reviews Technical drawing interpretation Inspection and expediting report preparation Fabrication and manufacturing oversight Education Technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field Equivalent practical experience may be considered Experience 2+ years in expediting, manufacturing inspections, quality control, or supplier surveillance Experience with mechanical equipment and fabrication shops EPC project experience preferred Exposure to oil and gas projects preferred Equipment Knowledge Heat exchangers Pressure equipment Welding processes Fabrication and manufacturing activities Mechanical equipment used in oil and gas projects Certificates Required NDT certification preferred CWI certification preferred Welding or quality inspection certification is beneficial Soft Skills Strong report writing Professional customer-facing communication Ability to work independently at supplier facilities Strong organizational and follow-up skills Ability to identify process risks and improvement opportunities
