Role:
BASS Corrosion Services, Inc., is seeking a full-time Cathodic Protection Engineer (PE) to support and expand our cathodic protection design services. BASS is a full-service contractor specializing in cathodic protection and corrosion control solutions for pipeline, utility, industrial, power generation, and infrastructure clients. In addition to construction and installation services, BASS provides technical support including annual surveys, rectifier inspections, atmospheric corrosion assessments, cathodic protection system evaluations, interference testing, and integrity-related consulting services. BASS routinely provides cathodic protection design services for new pipeline systems, facilities, tanks, and other infrastructure. We are also a trusted partner in developing practical solutions for aging and existing infrastructure through engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and system upgrades. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding BASS's engineering capabilities and supporting some of the nation's most critical pipeline, utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This position offers significant opportunities for technical leadership, client engagement, and professional growth within the ONEMESA family of companies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of cathodic protection principles, corrosion control practices, and applicable industry standards. Strong understanding of impressed current and galvanic cathodic protection systems. Familiarity with applicable NACE/AMPP, API, ASME, ISO and relevant regulatory requirements and standards relevant to cathodic protection and corrosion control. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related business software. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment. This position will require the ability to travel 10-25% of the time. This position will be based out of Longview, Houston, or Tulsa and requires the ability to report to an office. The position may be structured as hybrid for highly qualified candidates.
Preferred Qualifications:
AMPP/NACE
Cathodic Protection Technologist (CP3) or Cathodic Protection Specialist (CP4) preferred Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software. Familiarity with Salesforce CRM. Experience with GIS platforms and mapping software. 4+ years of cathodic protection and corrosion control experience. Required Certifications /
Qualifications:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or ability to obtain Texas licensure through comity/reciprocity within six months of hire. Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Experience with pipeline, terminal, tank, utility, or power industry projects. Experience developing cathodic protection construction packages and technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
Manage cathodic protection design projects from proposal through final deliverables. Develop cathodic protection designs for pipelines, tanks, facilities, power generation assets, and other infrastructure assets. Perform engineering calculations including current requirement analysis, groundbed sizing, resistance calculations, voltage drop analysis, and current attenuation. Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, construction packages, and engineering reports. Review and seal engineering documents as required by applicable regulations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to corrosion technicians and design personnel. Assist field personnel with troubleshooting and evaluation of existing corrosion control systems. Communicate directly with clients regarding project scope, schedule, technical recommendations, and project status. Participate in project planning, budgeting, and interdepartmental coordination meetings. Support business development efforts by assisting with technical proposals and client presentations. Compensation Range:
$100,000 - $130,000 per year The compensation range listed for this position represents ONEMESA's good-faith estimate of the pay range it reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible employees may participate in ONEMESA's profit-sharing program and benefit offerings; which includes health insurance, 401(k) with generous company match, paid time off, and other company-sponsored benefits. Eligible travel and field employees may also receive additional benefits and incentives, including per diem allowances, cell phone stipends, and single-occupancy hotel accommodations. This position will require the ability to travel 10-25% of the time. Also, this position may be based out of Longview, Houston, or Tulsa and may be structured as a hybrid for highly qualified candidates.
