Job Description
Senior Metallurgist | Steel Pipe ManufacturingWe're seeking a Senior Metallurgist with deep expertise in steel pipe manufacturing to serve as a key technical authority within a growing industrial operation. This role reports directly to the General Manager and provides leadership in metallurgy, welding, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Define metallurgical requirements and ensure compliance with API, ASME, ASTM, and customer specifications. Analyze mechanical, chemical, and metallurgical test data for plate and finished pipe products. Provide technical leadership for welding metallurgy, including SAW process optimization and weld performance. Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions for quality and production issues. Support customer technical reviews, audits, and code interpretation discussions. Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and maintain metallurgical standards. Mentor junior technical staff and promote best practices across quality and manufacturing teams. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. 10+ years of metallurgy experience in steel plate, pipe, or heavy manufacturing. Direct experience with HFW and/or SAWL pipe production. Strong knowledge of
