What You'll Do:
Conduct metallurgical analysis of metals and alloys using various testing and characterization techniques. Develop and optimize metal processing methods including casting and heat treatment. Perform failure analysis to identify causes of material defects or performance issues. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement material improvements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and material specifications. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols. Research and recommend new materials or technologies to enhance product performance. Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues related to metal materials and processes.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. Proven experience working as a Metallurgist or in a similar role within manufacturing or materials testing environments. Strong knowledge of metallurgy principles, heat treatment processes, and material properties. Proficiency in using metallurgical laboratory equipment and testing methods such as microscopy, spectrometry, and hardness testing. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and material specifications. Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and prepare detailed reports. Familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM, ISO, and relevant safety protocols.
