What to Expect

In this role, you will design, install, and commission high-speed part retrieval, packaging, and palletizing systems that interface directly with high-cavitation injection molding machines. You will define manufacturing layouts, processes, and equipment to enable production at rate. Your work ensures safety, quality, and efficiency while reducing cost. You will lead solutions from design through stable production, directly supporting Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. What You'll Do

Design high-speed part part extraction systems for high-cavitation injection molds

Develop systems capable of inspecting and filtering parts across high cavitation molds, via vision or other methods

Experience with bulk deburring or finishing operations across high cavitation molds

Develop conveyance and palletizing systems for packing parts into boxes and stacking full/empty returnable

Perform FAT at manufacturer site to verify system performance against design specs

Install, power on, commission, and optimize equipment for OEE before handover to operations

Partner with Controls Engineering to ensure systems meet Tesla standards for maintenance and troubleshooting

Support engineering builds and validate process scalability for volume production

Develop and execute production process validation using standardized metrics (cycle time, OEE, MTBF, etc.)

Collaborate with Product Engineering to design components for manufacturability and quality integration What You'll Bring

Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience

4+ years hands-on experience designing, installing, and commissioning high-speed packaging and conveyance systems for high-volume plastic parts

4+ years of equipment troubleshooting and field support in high-volume manufacturing

Proficiency in 3D modeling (CATIA or

SOLIDWORKS

) for fixture and assembly design and clash detection

Experience with AutoCAD 2D for factory line layout and grid-based planning

Experience using statistical tools (e.g. Minitab) for SPC and quality analysis

Understanding of Design for Assembly (DFA), lean manufacturing, and capacity planning techniques

Strong problem-solving and project management skills

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
