Job Description
GNB is seeking a self-starter with a strong bias for action who is exceptionally curious, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in steel fabrication and manufacturing, with a practical understanding of shop floor operations, welding, drilling, fixturing, and related production processes. This individual should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and shop personnel to drive efficient, high-quality outcomes from concept through production. Key Responsibilities /
Experience:
Strong hands-on manufacturing experience in a steel fabrication / structural steel environment Practical knowledge of welding processes, weld specifications, and fabrication methods Experience with fixturing / fixture design / manufacturing support tooling Ability to interpret Fabrication / shop drawings Bills of Materials Product specifications Weld details Support projects from concept through manufacturing / production Translate concepts, sketches, or engineering requirements into manufacturable solutions Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and production teams to optimize manufacturing execution Conduct reviews to ensure compliance with: Quality standards Client requirements Industry standards Support continuous improvement Manufacturability Performance Cost / value engineering Production efficiency Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design modifications as needed Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Familiarity with AWS D1.1, AISC, and structural steel fabrication standards preferred Strong problem-solving / troubleshooting mindset Lean manufacturing / SOP-driven environment experience is a plus Work Environment This job primarily operates in a professional office environment with periodic travel in an industrial steel and fabric fabrication environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, precise measuring instruments, and other design and engineering related tools.
