Job Description
Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview The Product Metallurgist is responsible for a wide variety of activities and procedures throughout our production process. This position is part of a team tasked with the goal of maximizing safety, quality, and productivity at the Sinton location. Responsibilities Provide technical support on product and processes for the operators Provide technical support including product and operations information for SDI sales and SDI customers Approve orders Maintain order validation and premet review program parameters Set internal/external quality standards Make final disposition on nonconforming material Review galvanizing claims Develop corrective and preventive actions Provide continuous product and process improvement Coordinate ISO activities Assist with trials and trial tracking Validate customer claims and make corrective actions if needed Qualifications B.S. degree or equivalent in metallurgy, material science, or a related engineering field Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills Travel requirements - some travel is necessary to visit customers, attend conferences, attend meetings at other SDI locations etc Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
