In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of welding quality systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will drive excellence in manufacturing processes, uphold the highest quality standards, and foster a culture of safety, precision, and innovation across all welding operations. Duties Develop and maintain ASME "S" and "U" stamps as well as the National Boiler Inspection Code "R" stamp. Develop, implement and maintain welding and NDT procedures as well as welder qualification program. Manage and participate in NDT qualification programs as required. Maintain welding records for weld certifications, PQR, WPQR and WPS development. Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and practices and act as company representative with agencies such as ASME, AWS, NBI and others. Perform welding qualifications and training to support the welding programs. Perform in-process and final inspections of welding and dimensions of parts. Ensure that all quality documentation is accurate and complete and submitted in a timely manner. Support Sales with technical bid review to mitigate quality risks. Attend project kick-off meetings to support contract review mitigating quality risks by implementing project specific quality plans. Review contract documents and design documents for quality considerations. Act as liaison for customers regarding all welding quality issues. Train area managers and craftsmen regarding
AWS, ASME/NBI
quality policies and procedures. NCR investigation and root cause analysis to identify recommendations for corrective actions and prevent reoccurrences. Evaluate and/or qualify quality programs/procedures of suppliers and subcontractors. Identify and develop third-party inspection subcontractors to support quality efforts. Serve on the Material Review Board (MRB) to correct nonconformance on
ASME/AWS
projects. Provide technical directions for craftsmen as required regarding code requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have current SCWI or CWI certification. College degree in engineering discipline or related field preferred, or equivalent commensurate experience. Knowledge of AS9100 standards Advanced knowledge with interpreting assembly and manufacturing drawings, GD&T and standard symbols. Basic machining experience and advanced knowledge of manufacturing and welding processes. Proficient with Microsoft office suite, scheduling programs and ability to use company programs as required. Excellent communication both written and verbal. Well organized and detail oriented. Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship. Valid Driver's license with acceptable MVR Relevant certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or equivalent are highly desirable. Must be capable of working in heavy industrial environments. May be required to climb on and around equipment, lift tools and components, bend, or crawl to obtain correct positions, and reach for tools, equipment or machine components. Must be a mature individual not easily upset - remaining calm during adverse situations. Create internal systems and processes. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to provide presentations using MS Office or other software. Must be able to train, teach, and instruct. Prime Field Service is looking for an experienced CWI Quality Manager to lead quality for our heavy industrial field and shop operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands welding, fabrication, inspection, documentation, and what it takes to deliver quality work in demanding industrial environments. The ideal candidate holds a current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential and brings strong experience with welding inspection, quality control, code compliance, weld procedures, documentation, NCRs, and corrective actions. This position works closely with our field crews, supervisors, project management, and customers to ensure work meets specifications and quality requirements from start to finish. If you are a working Quality Manager who is comfortable in the shop, on a jobsite, and in front of a customer—and believes quality is built into the work, not inspected in at the end—we want to talk to you.
