Job Description

Pipeline Engineer II Location:
Salt Lake City, Utah Contract Duration:
12 Months (with potential for extension)
Rate:
$60-$65 per hour Overview We are seeking a Pipeline Engineer II to support the design and execution of high-pressure natural gas pipeline projects. This role focuses on delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Design and engineer high-pressure steel pipelines in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards (e.g., CFR Part 192). Develop pipeline routing, layouts, and valve placement strategies. Design pipeline crossings using both open-cut and trenchless construction methods. Perform engineering analysis including stress, thermal expansion, soil loads, and seismic impacts. Specify materials, coatings, and technical requirements for pipeline components. Prepare engineering documentation, calculations, and compliance reports. Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including pressure testing procedures. Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, environmental, ROW, and corrosion specialists Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related discipline 4-7 years of experience in pipeline engineering or related field Knowledge of pipeline materials, construction practices, and regulatory standards Proficiency with engineering tools and Microsoft Office applications.
