You resolve complex engineering challenges related to the production of parts and products. You plan, install, and maintain new capital equipment and processes, applying advanced engineering principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.Job Duties & Responsibilities Manages multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision within defined timelines. Manages entire life cycle of assigned capital projects including: developing project specifications, working with suppliers and purchasing to gather quotes/estimates, determining budget requirements, completing and submitting decision templates for management approval, kicking off project, completing design review, managing build, running-off new equipment, and validating new equipment once delivered to STIHL Inc. Researches and designs new methodologies and techniques to improve quality of product, error proofing, speed of production and cost-effectiveness of production methods. Recommends and implements methods, techniques and technologies to reduce downtime and improve quality. Creates engineering designs and builds. Modifies equipment based on designs. Plans, schedules and conducts testing and critical evaluation of all products for engineering changes and new parts/products. Makes and implements recommended changes based on evaluations and findings. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Ensures procedures and plans are maintained; monitors and evaluates performance; initiates recommendations and corrective action where needed. Trains employees in proper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. Evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Confers with management, engineering, and other departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned Specifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering Working knowledge of CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred) PLC experience (Siemens preferred) Project management experience Presentaton skills and experience using Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc Hands on processing experience in particular field of engineering Minimal travel requirements
