  • Miller Electric (Precision Welding Solutions) is seeking a skilled Weld Engineer to join our highly collaborative team that develops cutting-edge welding solutions tailored to the needs of General Manufacturing, Fabrication, MRO, and Personal end users.

  • How you will make an impact:
  • Product Development and Optimization:
  • As a Welding Engineer at Miller Electric, you will focus on new product development and sustaining initiatives to provide optimum solutions utilizing tools such as picoscope, microscope, high speed camera and design of experiment software programs.

+ Evaluate welding arc performance for commercial welding power supplies.

+ Optimize welding arcs for Laser, GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and SMAW processes.

+ Develop welding related solutions for customer challenges and issues.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • Welding Engineers are heavily involved in all stages of New Product Development and sustaining initiatives, sharing knowledge to guide our team to success.

+ Partner with various levels of the organization, including production, engineering, customer service, marketing, and leadership to identify, strategize, and bring to life the latest and greatest welding products to the market.

+ Support cross-functional team members with advanced customer applications and challenges.

  • What you need to do to be successful:

Technical Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of GTAW, and SMAW welding processes, techniques, and settings. Additional knowledge of GMAW, GMAW-P and laser is preferred. Basic understanding of arc physics, metallurgy and how the variables impact the arc performance and the weldment. +

  • : Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills. +
  • Relationship Building
  • : Excellent interpersonal skills in order to relate to all customers, technical, and non-technical audiences. +

  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. +

  • Flexibility to Travel
  • : Up to 25% travel required.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and manufacturing through industry experience, research, academic projects, or professional certifications is required.

+ Minimum 1+ years welding engineering experience preferred, that includes experience in manufacturing. _ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
