This position will coordinate welder testing, certification activities, documentation, and follow-up while working directly with CWIs, welding leadership, and production employees. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with strong hands-on welding knowledge, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work directly with welders throughout the certification process.
Responsibilities:

Monitor weld tests and ensure testing is completed according to applicable procedures and requirements. Maintain accurate records of welder qualifications, certifications, test results, and certification status. Track certification requirements and identify welders requiring initial testing, additional qualifications, or recertification. Coordinate certification activities with Weld Supervisors, Weld Leads, production leadership, and manufacturing schedules. Assist CWIs with weld inspections and documentation related to welder qualification activities. Review weld test results and communicate deficiencies or required follow-up to the appropriate CWI and welding leadership. Help identify recurring welding issues and areas where additional welder training or coaching may be needed. Ensure welding personnel understand and follow established welding procedures and quality requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, welding specifications, and related documentation. Previous welding, fabrication, weld inspection, or weld-testing experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GMAW (MIG/MAG) welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and welding specifications. Experience working with heavy-gauge steel fabrication strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain accurate certification and quality documentation. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to coach and communicate effectively with welders of varying experience levels. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable spending the majority of the workday in an active manufacturing/shop-floor environment. Ability to work independently while coordinating activities across multiple departments and manufacturing facilities.
