Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year. The candidate will act as the- Piping Field Engineer
- on the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Job Summary:
The Construction- Piping Field Engineer
- is responsible for activities of the piping field engineering relating to construction engineering within the piping discipline.
Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging:
- + Coordinates the preparation of construction drawings and sketches.
Material Management:
+ Initiates requisitions for field purchases. + Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. + Inspects material upon receipt at site and material issued for preservation and maintenance + Issues material to craft professionals + Coordinates contractor material deliveries, storage of materials, expediting and engineering reports related to the schedule. #Quantities:
+ Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. + Validates installation of materials through inspection / documentation. + Tracks progress of assigned subcontracts and provides input to project schedules and cost reports. #Safety/Quality Control:
+ Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. + Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other technical documents. + Monitors equipment delivery and construction materials and assures that specified warehousing and storage exists to ensure adequate environmental protection. #Technical:
+ Supports Construction Field Engineers, Supervision, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents. + Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Supervision, Foremen and Craft Professionals. + Coordinates with Design on constructability issues. + Prepares testing processes and required test equipment. #Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience. #Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Experience in combined cycle facilities is preferred. + Knowledge of modularization of piping and pipe racks, above ground & below ground piping systems and line testing preferred. + Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. + Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. + Excellent communication and problem-solving ability. #Total Rewards/Benefits:
