Job Description
Role Overview We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take charge of creating, refining, and advancing mechanical components and systems for cutting-edge transportation machinery. You will guide initiatives from the initial concept phase all the way to final production, guaranteeing that every design aligns with our standards for quality, cost-efficiency, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. We need a proactive individual who excels at solving complex problems and thrives within a dynamic, team-oriented manufacturing setting. Primary Duties Spearhead the creation of new products and drive ongoing enhancements to existing designs. Utilize 3D CAD software and advanced analytical tools to engineer robust mechanical systems. Implement APQP frameworks, such as feasibility assessments, DFMEA, and control plans, to ensure project success. Manage the development and upkeep of technical documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and detailed engineering schematics. Partner cross-functionally with teams in Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Project Management, Sales, and Supply Chain to streamline workflows. Assist in the build, testing, and validation of prototypes to ensure seamless production integration. Engineer effective solutions to optimize costs, resolve manufacturing hurdles, and improve overall product performance. Deliver expert technical guidance to support both internal production lines and external after-sales requirements. Monitor emerging industry trends to suggest innovative design upgrades that keep us competitive. Required Qualifications A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline is preferred. Between five and ten years of professional experience focused on product development or mechanical design in a manufacturing context. Proficiency in utilizing PLM software and CAD platforms. Deep knowledge of core mechanical engineering concepts and APQP standards. Proven ability to interpret complex technical documentation and engineering blueprints. Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication abilities.
