Job Description

Delta Systems & Automation LLC is seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will design the mechanical portion of machines based on requirements and equipment specifications that meet both business and customers' needs.
Responsibilities:
Design mechanical portion of machines, including frames, drive train, and integration of commercial components with general ergonomics and safety design concepts in mind. Utilize machine design momentum, inertia calculations, drive ratio, and servo sizing in all component design Create bills of materials Define and institute processes and standards for the Engineering department Assist the sales department with packaging system concepts Assist production assembly departments Contribute to the development and review of supplemental instruction documents Assist the service department with technical questions Communicate with coworkers who have experience with specific customer requirements Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas Maintain quality and safety standards are upheld
Skills:
Ability to multi-task and apply critical thinking skills Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with coworkers as part of a team Able to effectively train and lead work teams within the workgroup Able to give effective presentations to general audiences Detail-oriented and close attention to accuracy
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of post-secondary education in a Mechanical or related field Bachelor's degree (BSME) from an accredited college or university is required. Previous experience in food processing and packaging is preferred Background in industrial automation is a plus Knowledge of electrical design about the use of sensors, motors, and robotics Must be proficient with SolidWorks, general loading and machine design calculations,
Finite Element Analysis, and MS Office Physical Demands:
This position will frequently be working on equipment with potential hazards. Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required Must be able to lift 20 pounds and occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds The position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Requirements:
Valid driver's license Valid or the ability to obtain an unrestricted passport Availability to travel domestically and internationally Some minimal travel may be required, both nationally and internationally, to assist with sales, assist with equipment installation, training, and troubleshooting Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed

The hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday; some travel will be required. Salary will be commensurate based on qualifications, experience, and existing skill set.
