Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing, process engineering, and product development activities. This role offers hands-on experience in mechanical systems, production processes, equipment optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives within a heavy manufacturing environment. This position will be located in West Memphis, AR in the USA. 1. Manufacturing & Process Engineering Support Support mechanical processes across production lines including forming, assembly, and finishing operations. Assist in evaluating manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and product consistency. Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical or process-related issues. 2. Equipment & Maintenance Support Assist in troubleshooting and improving performance of production equipment and machinery. Support preventive and corrective maintenance initiatives in coordination with maintenance teams. Help analyze equipment downtime and recommend solutions to improve reliability and uptime. 3. Product & Design Support Support mechanical aspects of product design, validation, and improvement. Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and tolerances for manufacturability. Work with engineering teams to ensure designs align with production capabilities and quality standards. 4. Data Analysis & Reporting Collect and analyze production and equipment performance data. Develop reports to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities. Support engineering documentation including process parameters, work instructions, and technical reports. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with quality, production, maintenance, and engineering teams to support plant goals. Assist in resolving mechanical issues impacting quality, safety, or efficiency. Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and improvement projects. 6. Continuous Improvement & Projects Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and process optimization initiatives. Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Contribute to projects focused on cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and waste elimination. 7. Safety & Compliance Follow all plant safety procedures, especially heavy equipment and industrial machinery. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and engineering standards. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required Professional Experience 0-2 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing environment Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred Technical Proficiency
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with mechanical equipment, tooling, and production machinery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) preferred Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting ability Ability to interpret technical data and provide actionable insights Attention to detail and accuracy in engineering work Communication & Collaboration Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in cross-functional teams and support multiple projects Capability to present technical findings clearly and concisely Personal Attributes Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and develop technical skills Results-oriented with a proactive mindset High integrity and commitment to quality and safety Strong organizational and time management skills Reporting Line Reports to: Engineering Manager Physical demands and work environment: • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl • Continually required to talk or hear • Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard or other equipment HMI • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items less than 40 pounds/ up to 60 pounds • Frequently has exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather) • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts • Occasionally work in high, precarious places • Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions • Frequently has exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather) Frequently loud noise (examples: assembly line noise, product testing noise, etc.
