Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer About the Role Our Mechanical Engineering organization is seeking a driven and experienced Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and production of mission‑critical defense systems. In this role, you will lead mechanical hardware efforts from early concept development through production release and long‑term sustainment, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, high‑reliability solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical design expertise, hands‑on hardware experience, and a passion for turning complex concepts into production‑ready systems while supporting ongoing manufacturing and fielded products. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design efforts from concept definition, detailed design, and system integration through transition to production and production support Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and associated product data using modern CAD and PDM tools Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, systems, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are producible, reliable, and meet program requirements Support prototype builds, design reviews, qualification testing, and root‑cause analysis Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team leadership efforts Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another STEM discipline 5-10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience Proven experience taking hardware from initial concept through detailed design, production release, and production support Strong hands‑on experience with 3D CAD tools and Product Data Management (PDM) systems Preferred Qualifications Experience designing, fabricating, and integrating one or more of the following: Electronic assemblies Shelter or enclosure assemblies Power distribution equipment Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams Self‑motivated leader with strong communication and collaboration skills Prior experience leading small to mid‑sized technical teams or project efforts Why Join Us? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
