Job Description:

About the role We're looking for a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and development of advanced mechanical systems from concept to production. You'll work closely with our electrical, optical, photonics, and systems teams to build reliable, manufacturable, high-performance products. What you'll do Own mechanical design of complex assemblies from concept to production Create 3D CAD models, drawings, assemblies, and BOMs for optoelectronic packages Perform structural, modal, and thermal analysis (FEA) Drive DFM/DFA with internal teams and external vendors Support prototype builds, testing, and system integration Solve precision alignment, thermal management, and sealing challenges Maintain documentation via PDM Required BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM Solid grasp of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FEA Hands-on prototyping and manufacturing experience (CNC, casting, etc.) Experience working cross-functionally in multidisciplinary teams Nice to have Startup or fast-paced product development experience Background in optics, photonics, LiDAR, or precision alignment Electronics packaging / PCBA integration Environmental sealing and IP-rated enclosure design About SiLC SiLC is a 4D vision sensor company in Monrovia, CA, using FMCW lidar and coherent optical detection to generate high-resolution 3D point clouds - redefining what's possible in machine vision. Compensation $80,000-$120,000 base, depending on experience, plus stock options and equity tied to company milestones
