Structural & Mechanical Engineering Employment Type:
Contractor full-time, convertible to salaried full-time. Scope & Ownership Owns engine accessories and external mechanical systems: oil cooling / pumping / filtration; air cooling / pumping / filtration; the mechanical instrumentation scope; and container mechanicals - the gearbox interface and genset interface.Crossover:
systems↔fluids↔packaging. Minimum Education- Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Experience
- 4-8 years in mechanical-systems / accessories or packaging design, or a relevant PhD plus ~2 years
- Lube/scavenge and cooling systems, pumps, filtration; instrumentation integration Skill Requirements
- Fluid systems and heat exchangers; pumps and filtration
- Sensors and instrumentation integration; packaging and mechanical integration
- Python/Matlab; 2D/3D CAD Responsibilities
- Take sole ownership of hardware development from clean-sheet through high rate production across multiple components of the Parallax PE-10
- Collaborate with other REs to define interface requirements and manage coupled interactions
- Collaborate with Analysts to derive loads, environments, and response characteristics of your hardware across its operating envelope
- Develop and execute test and qualification plans for your hardware
- Analyze test and qualification data to derive margins and iterate on designs
- Collaborate with Production to develop and execute prototype, low rate, and full rate production of your hardware while balancing performance, cost, and complexity
