Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an industry leading MEP contractor servicing the multi-family sector in Carson, CA. This individual well be responsible for the design and analysis of HVAC and mechanical systems supporting multi-family new construction projects. This role requires a strong technical foundation in building systems, hands-on design experience, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project environment. This position plays a key role in developing coordinated construction documents, performing engineering calculations, and ensuring all designs meet project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering
  •  Develop HVAC system designs from concept through construction documents for multi-family residential projects
  •  Perform engineering calculations, including: o Heating and cooling load calculations o Ventilation and air distribution design o Equipment selection and sizing o Ductwork and piping layouts
  •  Prepare and review technical drawings, schedules, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit MEP
  •  Apply and interpret relevant codes and standards, including CMC, ASHRAE, IECC, NFPA, ADA, and local jurisdiction requirements
  •  Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to ensure fully integrated systems Project Coordination
  •  Act as the primary mechanical design contact on assigned projects
  •  Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure design intent and project requirements are met
  •  Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings to resolve technical challenges and maintain project alignment

  •  3+ years of Mechanical Systems Design experience within multi-family/mixed-use residential/hospitality buildings
  •  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  •  Highly Proficient in the following software's: AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Naviswork, Bluebeam
