Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic multidisciplinary team to design and develop engineering solutions for gas turbine power generation and industrial process systems. This role emphasizes a fabrication-centric design approach to ensure ease of equipment installation and integration while implementing a growth mindset within the team. Responsibilities Ensure designs meet industry standards, including drawing GD&T, materials selection, thermal management, vibration, ventilation, air circulation, lubrication, fuel supply management, manufacturability, and mechanical & electrical acceptance. Develop and design 3D models using SolidWorks for mechanical components and assemblies, and create detailed 2D technical drawings that meet industry standards and client requirements. Review manufacturing and assembly drawings to ensure proper fabrication and integration. Perform and facilitate CAE analysis, including thermal, fluid flow, foundation, acoustic, and structural analysis. Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM) and other technical documentation as required. Continuously improve design processes and standards for efficiency and quality. Stay up to date with the latest SolidWorks tools and design trends to implement best practices. Serve as a liaison between the engineering team, production team, management, project management, sales, and purchasing department. Review and approve all project-specific design documents, including calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment, customer requirements, supplier IDMs, and instrument lists. Report progress through regular written or presented updates for review and status checks. Interface with customers, suppliers, and team members to prepare and implement solution-centric roadmaps. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5-10 years of experience in 3D and 2D design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Expertise in SolidWorks PDM. Understanding of thermodynamics, structural skid design analysis, power generation, turbines, industrial machinery, thermal management, vibration analysis, ventilation, fuel supply, sheet metal, engineering, AutoCAD, mechanical design, mechanical engineering, 3D modeling, HVAC, manufacturing processes, structural analysis, CAE, and PDM. Additional Skills & Qualifications EIT/PE certification is a plus. Expert-level knowledge in various streams of engineering, including thermal, acoustical, structural, and power generation. Work Environment Work is primarily sedentary, requiring the ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally or negligible force frequently. The role requires substantial talking and hearing, necessitating the ability to express and receive detailed information accurately. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required, with a necessity for visual acuity to ensure accuracy and neatness in work. All employees are subject to pre-employment background checks and drug screenings. Approximately 30% travel may be required to visit clients, vendors, or supplier sites. Operating from a 40,000-square-foot facility, the company handles everything from initial design to in-house testing under one roof, and is currently scaling up. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Corona, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
