Position Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or industrial sector is preferred Deep understanding of allowables, materials (metallics and composites), boundary conditions, and margin associated with tools like FEA and CFD Metallics
  • complex design using 4XXX, 4XX, A572, A36, steels as well as 2024, 6061 and 7075 aluminum Composites
  • complex design with fiberglass and carbon fiber lamina and laminate Bonding
  • complex design principles for injection and surface structural bonding Fasteners
  • Detailed fastener analysis techniques for highly loaded slip-critical joint design Fatigue and Ultimate
  • Complex design and verification methods at system-level (vehicle-level) for fatigue, stiffness, and ultimate strength driven design.
Detailed understanding of margins and allowables required. Substantial experience transitioning products from design into manufacturing at scale Deep understanding of DFM, fabrication, and V&V testing to resolve tolerances and margins to requirements Experience with aerospace or industrial standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ASTM, ISO, ASME, SAE, FAA) Experience collaborating directly with manufacturing groups and assessing cost-down opportunities If you check off 7 of the 10 bullets above and meet the location requirements , we encourage you to apply!
Position Duties:
Conceptual Design:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative mechanical concepts and solutions
Analysis:
Conduct structural, thermal, and fluid flow analyses to optimize designs and ensure performance
Prototyping and Testing :
Oversee the fabrication and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts
Manufacturing Support:
Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost effective
Documentation:
Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering documentation
Mentorship:
