Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in developing new products, improving existing designs, and supporting manufacturing operations through engineering innovation and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in product design, CAD, and manufacturing who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of new and custom-engineered products. Create, revise, and maintain CAD drawings using SolidWorks. Prepare engineering documentation for production release. Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing costing information. Develop and optimize programs for automated manufacturing equipment. Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce production cycle times. Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and conduct time-motion studies. Ensure products comply with applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and other industry regulations. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on various projects. Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 4-5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with SolidWorks and CAD software. Strong knowledge of engineering design, drafting, and manufacturing processes. Experience maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs). Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
Experience with sheet metal fabrication. Knowledge of manufacturing tolerances and raw materials. Experience programming automated manufacturing equipment. Familiarity with industrial engineering and time-motion studies. Knowledge of California safety standards and labor regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed. Occasional travel for project meetings, site visits, or training. Ability to work additional hours during peak production periods when necessary.
