Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture. The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence. Duties/Responsibilities Designs CAD models based on concepts provided by customer Works with design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans for various departments Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of products Updates models based on changes provided from department leads Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs Develops control systems and monitors production Controls part numbering and documents filing of all engineering documents including CAD and prints Collaborates with manufacturing on design methods and questions Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of mechanical and technical skills necessary to create working prints Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software and Solidworks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Efficient organizational skills with keen attention to detail Understanding of tolerance and design symbols and call outs Ability to maintain accurate records including design changes, updates, observations and deletions

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required; Master's degree preferred. Three years of related experience required
