This role serves as a technical bridge between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure component selections and mechanical designs are manufacturable, reliable, and aligned with supplier capabilities prior to production release. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with electro-mechanical systems, and a solid understanding of component lifecycle management, manufacturability, and supplier risk mitigation. Key ResponsibilitiesDVT & Design Release Support Participate in DVT readiness and design reviews to identify component risks, manufacturability concerns, and documentation gaps Support design transfer activities to ensure readiness for manufacturing release Assist with release activities for off-the-shelf and custom components Component Risk & Lifecycle Assessment Evaluate component lifecycle status including Active, NRND, and EOL conditions Assess supplier risk, availability, and long lead-time concerns Recommend alternate components and mitigation strategies to reduce supply chain risk Mechanical Drawing Review & Manufacturability Review mechanical drawings for dimensional accuracy, GD&T compliance (ASME Y14.5), and tolerance stack-up concerns Evaluate manufacturability relative to supplier capabilities Identify over-constrained tolerances and potential yield risks Provide DFM/DFA recommendations to improve product manufacturability and assembly Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as liaison between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams Support supplier technical discussions and issue resolution Assist with build support and early production troubleshooting Partner with sourcing teams to identify cross-reference opportunities and alternate suppliers Data & Documentation Management Support component lifecycle advancement within PLM systems Ensure specifications, sourcing, and compliance documentation are complete and aligned across PLM and ERP systems Maintain traceability and support audit readiness activities Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (BSME strongly preferred) Experience in the medical device industry Strong understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components Experience supporting DVT (Design Verification Testing) and design release processes Knowledge of component lifecycle management including NRND and EOL assessments Experience with root cause analysis and design transfer activities Strong GD&T knowledge and mechanical drawing review experience Familiarity with PLM systems such as Propel and ERP systems such as NetSuite Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced engineering environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with supplier development or supplier quality engineering Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles Experience supporting manufacturing readiness and production release activities Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
