Job Description:

About the job: Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead in Irvine, CA. This role supports mechanical design and development activities within a regulated medical device environment. To be considered, candidates should have strong experience in medical device product development, mechanical design, and validation , along with knowledge of regulatory standards and cross-functional collaboration.

Pay Range:

$40/hr. - $49/hr. on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.) Mechanical Engineering Lead responsibilities include: Lead mechanical design and development for medical devices Drive continuous improvement (CIP) and cost optimization initiatives Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and execution strategies Collaborate with R D, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers Perform design reviews, testing, and validation activities Manage engineering changes and supplier-related updates Support process validation, documentation, and regulatory compliance Present technical updates and project status to stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience:

5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within medical device industry Strong knowledge of

ISO 13485, ISO

14971, and FDA regulations (21 CFR 820) Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools Experience with product design, validation, and risk management Knowledge of plastic molding, packaging, and labeling processes Strong project management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with 510(k) submissions Familiarity with statistical tools (Minitab) Experience in supplier management and continuous improvement Six Sigma certification If you are interested in this role, then please click
