Job Description
We are a leading provider of advanced electronic manufacturing services, specializing in high-quality PCB assembly and turnkey solutions for a wide range of industries. Our team is committed to precision, innovation, and delivering exceptional results that help our clients bring their products to life. With decades of expertise and a customer-focused approach, we pride ourselves on combining cutting-edge technology with personalized service to meet the most demanding project requirements.
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electromechanical (EM) Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturability, yield, cost and quality for complex electromechanical and electronic products. The role owns process definition and industrialization from prototype through high-volume production, partnering with design, test, quality and supply chain to deliver robust, repeatable manufacturing processes and test systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, document and validate manufacturing processes for electromechanical assemblies and electronic subassemblies (PCB assembly, wiring harnesses, connectors, mechanical fixtures).Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process flow creation, work instructions, tooling/fixture specification, pilot builds and production ramp-up.
Design and specify assembly fixtures, test fixtures and automated equipment; collaborate with vendors on tool development and installation.
Create and maintain process controls, manufacturing documentation (SOPs, IPC-compliant solder/assembly procedures), BOMs, and first-article/PPAP package elements.
Implement test strategies and produce test procedures for functional and in-line production testing; develop and optimize automated test equipment (ATE) and functional test stations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (DFM/DFMEA, root cause analysis, SPC, Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma methods) to improve yield, throughput and cost.
Provide hands-on support to production lines to resolve quality and process issues; lead containment and corrective action activities with cross-functional teams.
Work closely with design engineering during product development to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, testability and serviceability.
Monitor manufacturing metrics (yield, throughput, scrap, OEE) and report results; define countermeasures and execute corrective plans to meet production targets.
Support supplier selection, audits and qualification for subcontract manufacturing of PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies and test services.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, Electronics or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with electromechanical and electronic products; experience in NPI and production ramp preferred.
Hands-on experience with PCB assembly processes (SMT, through-hole), soldering standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and assembly of electromechanical components (motors, sensors, actuators).Proven ability to develop test strategies, write test procedures and specify or develop automated test equipment and fixtures.
Strong knowledge of DFM/DFMEA, root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D), SPC and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) for fixture/tooling definition and ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience with production documentation: work instructions, SOPs, BOM management and first-article inspection/PPAP processes.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration, project management skills and clear technical communication for production teams, suppliers and design engineers.
Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and regulatory/environmental requirements relevant to electronic products.
Willingness to support production troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor and availability for occasional travel to suppliers or contract manufacturers.
