Job Description

Our medical device client is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to serve as both a technical ambassador and hands-on engineering contributor at its Laguna Hills R&D Center. This individual will host and present to visiting physicians and clinicians, showcase the company's technologies, and capture valuable Voice of Customer (VOC) and KOL insights to help guide future product development. The role will also contribute directly to new product development and sustaining engineering initiatives while collaborating with global R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Clinical teams. Requirements of the Sr. R&D Engineer- Clinical Engagement 5+ years of medical device engineering experience; neurovascular or related interventional device experience strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with confidence presenting to physicians, clinicians, and executives. Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to build rapport and effectively represent the R&D organization. Solid engineering fundamentals with experience in product development, prototyping, testing, and/or sustaining engineering. Experience gathering and translating physician, KOL, or customer feedback into actionable product and design insights. Working knowledge of
GMP, ISO
13485, and medical device development requirements. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across multicultural, globally distributed teams and time zones. Responsibilities Sr. R&D Engineer- Clinical Engagement Plan and host physician and clinician visits, including technical presentations, product demonstrations, facility tours, and training. Present products, technologies, and R&D capabilities clearly and confidently to clinical and non-technical audiences. Capture Voice of Customer and KOL feedback and translate insights into product development and upstream planning opportunities. Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Clinical Affairs on physician training, KOL engagement, conferences, and product demonstrations. Contribute to new product development and sustaining engineering programs from concept through implementation. Perform hands-on engineering activities, including prototyping, design/process refinement, and verification and validation testing. Develop and execute test protocols and reports and support design and process FMEA activities. Collaborate with global R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams across the U.S., China, and Germany.
