This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to drive aircraft structures work end-to-end, from design and analysis through certification, testing, and supplier execution. This person will be the most senior mechanical engineer focused on structures in the organization and will work directly with leadership to help scale the team as the program advances. What you'll do Own structural design and analysis for aircraft modifications, including engine mount frames, firewall loads, front landing gear, battery pack mounting, and cowls Perform structural analysis using hand calculations and FEA, and prepare substantiation reports for FAA certification Build CAD models and release engineering drawings in SolidWorks Work directly with suppliers on quoting, procurement, and inspection of parts Support prototype assembly, rework, and ground/flight testing on the aircraft Mentor a junior mechanical engineer and help grow the structures team over time What they're looking for 5-10+ years of mechanical or structural engineering experience in fixed-wing aircraft Strong experience across both design and analysis, not just one side Hands-on capability in structural substantiation and certification support Experience working closely with hardware, suppliers, and test activities Ability to thrive in a lean, startup-style environment with high ownership and broad scope Preferred tools and background SolidWorks FEA tools such as Nastran or Altair Hand calculations, MMPDS, and
