  • Full-time Job Overview Ro Health is hiring a Special Education School teacher to start for the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year in East Palo Alto, CA.

Position Overview Special Education teachers work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, from math to English, in a way that is easier to understand for students with mild and moderate disabilities. They also teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities.

Hours:
8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday

  • Must have Education Specialist Credential from the Commission of Teacher Credentialing in California.

Moderate/Severe Credential Principal Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
May include but not limited to: Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students Help develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals Plan, organize, and assign activities specific student abilities Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one Assess students' performance and progress periodically Discuss student's progress with parents, general education teachers, counselors, and administrators Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade Comply will all company policies and applicable laws Handles all other duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills
REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree

Supervision is often minimal to general. Supervision Exercised The Special Education teacher will often supervise Teaching Assistants in day to day activities along with being the sole supervisor at times for the students.
