Possible Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Exterior Trim Engineer to design and develop exterior systems for a world-class vehicle. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automotive exterior components, CAD design, and product development, with a passion for innovation and high-quality engineering. Key Responsibilities Lead or contribute to the design, engineering, packaging, release, and launch of exterior trim systems Develop high-quality exterior components focusing on functionality, durability, cost, and mass efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design studio and vehicle engineering Support product development using advanced engineering tools and methodologies Ensure fit, finish, and integration of exterior components meet industry standards Required Qualifications 7-8 years of experience in automotive exterior trim design & development Experience with components such as: Side valences Sill trims Underbody aero shields Wheelhouse liners Spoilers / appliques Frunk (front trunk) systems Rocker panels Strong proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 preferred) Experience with thermoplastics, thermoset materials, and Class A surface manufacturing Solid understanding of engineering and computational design tools Product launch experience Preferred / Nice to Have Experience in plastics design, crash structures, aero features, lighting integration Knowledge of tooling, resins, gap & flush, module integration, thermal expansion Strong 3D problem-solving and creative engineering skills Excellent team collaboration and communication skills Education Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Additional Information This is a 100% onsite role in Newark, CA Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment
