Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our innovative team. This role requires proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD systems, and an understanding of GD&T, drawings, and machine shop operations. While experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is not necessary for performing tasks, an understanding of it is beneficial. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting new space programs due to a recent merger, providing access to a major contract bid supporting Space programs. Responsibilities Plan, execute, and deliver projects, ensuring total mission success. Develop, manufacture, and test video systems integrated into satellites, rockets, and spacecraft. Control systems for experiments and payloads. Manage data and sequencing systems for spacecraft ejection telemetry. Collaborate with software, firmware, electrical engineers, and other technical teams. Lead projects with technical scope, managing budget, schedule, timelines for deliverables, and customer communication. Essential Skills 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering. Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD systems. Understanding of GD&T, design for manufacturability, and machining. Experience working with machine shops. Some training or experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Experience in Project Management or Project Engineering for Development and R D projects. Ability to manage budget and schedule, with strong customer communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with government programs, ideally in space or defense. Knowledge of AS9100 standards. Familiarity with aerospace, avionics systems, and defense aerospace. Work Environment Our workspace is located at a modest office building within a small business park, offering a family-like atmosphere with the financial backing of a larger organization. The facility includes office space, assembly, and lab areas. Our team is dedicated to developing, manufacturing, and testing systems used in space missions, collaborating with partners such as NASA, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, MAXAR, and ViaSat. Dress code is business casual. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
