$90,000 - $160,000 Job Description Insight Global is partnering with a leading engineering and design firm to identify a Mechanical Engineer to support plumbing design efforts across Southern California. This opportunity offers hands-on involvement in a wide range of projects, from smaller commercial builds to complex healthcare, aviation, and large infrastructure facilities. In this role, you will contribute to the full design lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating design intent through drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design plumbing and mechanical systems for commercial and infrastructure projects Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and technical specifications Assist with fire suppression system selection and preliminary system design Produce high-quality drawings using AutoCAD-MEP and Revit Support facility assessments, sustainability initiatives, and feasibility studies Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and client standards Evaluate and select equipment from multiple manufacturers Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and external partners Participate in client, contractor, and design team meetings Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing Design Experience using AutoCAD-MEP and Revit Active California EIT certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) certification Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
