full-time Industrial Automation & Machine Vision Systems | San Diego, CA | On-Site Build. Troubleshoot. Improve. Wintriss Engineering Corporation designs and manufactures advanced machine-vision inspection systems used by manufacturers around the world to detect defects, improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase production efficiency. We're looking for a hands-on Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer / Technician who enjoys working with real equipment-building it, testing it, troubleshooting problems, and finding better ways to manufacture it. This isn't a desk-only engineering position. You'll work directly with electrical controls, mechanical assemblies, electronics, production equipment, and our engineering team to turn designs into reliable industrial systems. What You'll Do Build, test, troubleshoot, and improve electromechanical and electronic assemblies. Support production of industrial control panels, operator interfaces, power distribution, and I/O systems. Create and maintain electrical/mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and assembly documentation. Design control-panel layouts, back panels, enclosures, fixtures, and production tooling. Work directly with engineering and production to resolve technical and manufacturing problems. Develop assembly procedures, test methods, inspection criteria, and work instructions. Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, manufacturing, and field issues. Identify opportunities to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, productivity, and cost. Support prototype builds and introduction of new products into production. What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates with a strong combination of hands-on technical ability and engineering/problem-solving skills . Required 5+ years of relevant electromechanical, industrial automation, controls, equipment manufacturing, or similar experience. Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly/troubleshooting skills. Experience with industrial control panels, wiring, power distribution, I/O, and electromechanical systems. Ability to read and create electrical and mechanical drawings. AutoCAD or similar CAD experience. Experience using DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment. Working knowledge of mechanical fabrication, sheet metal, machining, wiring, and assembly. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with both engineering and production teams. A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline is valuable, but equivalent hands-on technical experience will also be considered. Experience That Would Be a Plus You don't need to have everything on this list: Industrial automation or machine-building experience UL508A and NEC knowledge HMI and industrial control-panel design SolidWorks or 3D CAD PCB assembly and circuit troubleshooting EMI/EMC principles IPC, UL, CE, IEC, ISO, or MIL-STD experience International power distribution and grounding practices Experience designing production fixtures or test equipment Who Will Do Well Here? You'll likely enjoy this position if you're the kind of person who likes to understand how things work, solve difficult technical problems, and then make the design or manufacturing process better. We're particularly interested in people who can move comfortably between a computer, an electrical drawing, a test bench, and the production floor. About Wintriss Engineering Wintriss Engineering Corporation has been developing automated surface inspection technology since 1989. Our Web Ranger™ systems inspect materials produced on high-speed manufacturing lines in industries including plastics and films, nonwovens, metals, paper, and coated and laminated materials. Our systems combine industrial cameras, electronics, software, controls, mechanical components, and automation into complete inspection solutions for manufacturers around the world.
