$32.00 / hour Description As a Battery Engineering Intern, you will support the development of lithium-ion battery packs for use in Impulse's current and next generation space vehicles. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with flight electromechanical devices. This role offers exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and the full spacecraft product development life cycle - from design to launch.

•This internship is 12 weeks long from May/June through August/September 2027

• Responsibilities Support electrical or structural finite element analysis of electromechanical hardware Develop battery test hardware Support qualification testing and pcb bring-up Support battery assembly Develop new CAD models Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams Minimum Qualifications Recent completion or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Hands-on project experience (ie Formula SAE, Design/Build/Fly, Senior Design) CAD experience (MCAD or ECAD) Hands-on experience with electronics or electrical test equipment Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with building battery packs or electromechanical devices Experience with Siemens NX Experience with ANSYS or Simcenter Experience with

Altium Designer Additional Requirements:

Willing and able to work on-site in Redondo Beach, CA, for the duration of the internship This position may require overtime hours; interns are eligible for overtime pay.

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options , and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan . Impulse Space's spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
