Leading biotechnology company (Santa Clara, CA 95050) W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL 40 hours/week, 12 Month Assignment A leading biotechnology company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of consumable fluidic devices for next-generation DNA sequencing technology. This role focuses on hands-on engineering support across manufacturing, testing, and process development activities in a fast-paced R D environment.Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
Support flowcell manufacturing, process development, and assembly activities to meet project needs. Assist senior engineers with SolidWorks design and engineering documentation. Perform dimensional and mechanical measurements, including data analysis, reporting, and surface metrology characterization. Conduct component testing, quality checks, and visual inspections to ensure performance and reliability. Prepare samples for external analysis and manage component/subcomponent inventory, including shipping and receiving.Mechanical Engineer Qualifications:
0-2 years of professional or hands-on lab experience in engineering or related fields. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. Experience or familiarity with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and/or Google Sheets. Exposure to microfabrication, microfluidics, materials science, or metrology/microscopy equipment is preferred.
