ABOUT THE ROLE ASC
Process Systems is seeking Mechanical Engineer I and II professionals to support the design and execution of custom autoclaves and process systems used by leading manufacturers worldwide. In this role, you'll manage projects from concept through customer acceptance, including engineering design, fabrication support, procurement, and customer communication. Engineers collaborate closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality equipment safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Mechanical Engineer I:
$88,000•$120,000 annually
Mechanical Engineer II:
$120,000•$140,000 annually
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all project management and engineering functions for assigned equipment orders. Independently engineers and designs autoclaves and custom process systems, assuring that equipment meets all customer•and regulatory•mandates. Responsible for creating Bill of Material utilizing OMS data base and overseeing timely procurement of materials for assigned projects. Generates design approval and fabrication level drawings using 2-D and 3-D design software. Releases drawings to fabrication team. Advises fabrication team as needed during construction of equipment. Generates and updates Project Schedules and Design Documents for assigned projects using various software packages including MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access. Communicates with customers regarding product design, project schedule, project progress, equipment fabrication, installation, customer training, equipment acceptance, and addresses all customer questions and concerns. Acts as project champion with various departments to facilitate timely, cost-efficient, and accurate purchasing, fabrication, testing, installation, start-up, training and/or repair of products. Evaluates existing designs/processes for possible improvements in design, cost efficiency, and reliability. Expected to demonstrate compatibility with ASC's stated Team Values that include working safely, having a positive attitude, leading by example, showing an eagerness to learn, being a team player, working efficiently, and focusing on producing quality work.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Mechanical Engineer I:
Recent graduates with a strong academic record or 0-2 years of experience encouraged to apply.
Mechanical Engineer II:
Requires 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience and demonstrated project ownership. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including machine design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, strength of materials, and 3-D CAD modeling. Experience performing engineering calculations and analysis related to stress, pressure, temperature, airflow, pump sizing, heat transfer, and related systems. Familiarity with FEA, CFD, vibration analysis, and project management is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with customers.
