Project Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)
Location:
Valencia, CA Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Internship Schedule:
May - August 2027, full-time, 40 hours per week ITT Aerospace Controls offers a best-in-class internship experience designed to immerse students in the aerospace industry. Interns work closely with experienced engineers and industry experts, gaining valuable insights into engineering processes, product development, and problem-solving strategies. With access to state-of-the-art facilities and mentorship from leading professionals, this internship is an ideal launchpad for students passionate about making an impact in the aerospace and defense market. Essential Responsibilities Support project engineers in the planning and execution of aerospace and industrial programs. Assist in tracking project schedules, milestones, action items, and deliverables. Help maintain project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, risk registers, and status reports. Participate in cross-functional team meetings and assist with follow-up activities. Support project status reporting by gathering and analyzing project performance data. Assist with project planning activities, including schedule updates and resource tracking. Learn and support requirements management processes, including documentation and traceability activities. Help identify and track project risks, issues, and opportunities. Support customer and internal project reviews by preparing materials and coordinating logistics. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to support project objectives. Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and product development projects. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving project execution and team efficiency. Conduct research and analysis to support project management and business objectives. Complete special projects and assignments as needed. Position Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Strong interest in project management, engineering, manufacturing, or aerospace industries. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations. Equal Pay Act Range $28-33/hour
