Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical designer with 3-5 years of experience who enjoys spending the majority of their day designing, drafting, and performing mechanical calculations. You will work as part of a collaborative team of 9 engineers and designers, supporting both new product development and modifications to existing designs. The work is steady, detail-oriented, and design-focused, with flexibility around start times to support work-life balance. Responsibilities + Create and modify 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Inventor. + Develop detailed 2D drawings, layouts, and assemblies for new and existing products. + Perform engineering calculations to support design integrity and functionality. + Update and revise existing designs based on engineering changes, manufacturing feedback, or project requirements. + Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable. + Maintain accurate and organized design documentation and drawing files. + Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve existing designs. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design or mechanical drafting. + Strong 3D modeling experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. + Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor. + Experience creating and modifying mechanical drawings and assemblies. + Comfortable performing design-related calculations. + Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in mechanical engineering, CAD, and mechanical drafting. + Knowledge of new product development, GD&T, 3D modeling, and sheet metal. + Experience in machine design. Work Environment The work environment includes an 8/5 schedule with the option to start the 8-hour day at 7 am. There is flexibility in the schedule, allowing you to leave early or start later if needed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
