Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support in concept design, R D, prototyping, and manufacturing of custom machinery. Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain detailed engineering drawings for production use. Utilize SolidWorks CAD software to manipulate, assess, and refine production models. Perform minor changes and updates to existing CAD models to support design and production improvements. Create cut packets for tubes and structural members to support fabrication and assembly processes. Develop machined component drawings with clear dimensions, tolerances, and specifications. Prepare and maintain bills of material to support production planning and inventory control. Support the creation of manuals and documentation for products and processes. Establish and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production-related activities. Collaborate directly with the production line in a fast-paced environment to resolve design and documentation issues. Work closely with a team of engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards. Incorporate feedback from production and engineering teams into updated drawings and models. Demonstrate self-motivation by proactively learning new tools, processes, and best practices. Contribute positively to a team-oriented culture by communicating clearly and supporting shared goals. Qualifications 5-10 years experience with mechanical engineering and design Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Experience with machine or equipment design Knowledge of electronics or electrical systems Proficiency in SolidWorks Hands on experience with fabrication and machining processes and standards Experience working within a manufacturing facility Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yuba City, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $51.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
