Job Description:
Senior Staff Mechanical Systems Engineer - Lunar Vehicle Programs We are supporting a leading space robotics company developing next-generation lunar mobility and planetary systems designed to support humanity's long-term presence beyond Earth. As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to support requirements management, verification & validation (V&V), systems integration, and test activities across advanced lunar vehicle programs. The Role You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to manage mechanical requirements, support flight hardware verification activities, and contribute to the successful integration and qualification of complex lunar systems in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain mechanical requirements, traceability matrices, and verification documentation Support requirements decomposition, V&V planning, and flight hardware test campaigns Participate in engineering change processes, interface management, and systems integration activities Develop and maintain technical documentation including ICDs, BOMs, and engineering records Support analysis plans, qualification testing, and compliance with NASA standards Collaborate across engineering disciplines and with external stakeholders including NASA teams Contribute to program planning, scheduling, and technical risk assessments Required Background Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 10+ years of experience supporting aerospace or spaceflight hardware programs Strong background in requirements management, V&V, and systems integration Experience with requirements tools such as DOORS or Jama Familiarity with NASA mechanical engineering standards and aerospace review processes Experience supporting vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum testing Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills US Person status required Preferred Experience Master's degree in related discipline Experience within startup or fast-paced commercial aerospace environments Familiarity with CAD/data management tools such as GrabCAD or similar Background in reliability, materials & processes, or qualification testing Why Apply?
