Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required. Candidate must be SAP and SCI program eligible. This is an on-site position. Toyon Research Corporation is an industry leader in the areas of complex space and missile systems analysis, aerothermodynamics, payload design and development, and ground and flight testing. Our Aerospace Systems Group provides innovative technical solutions to support aerospace programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and their agencies. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to participate in the development of novel electro-mechanical space systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop structures and mechanisms for space applications through test and delivery Author drawings, assembly documentation, and test plans Collaborate with Program Management to define task objectives, timelines, and deliverables Work in a multidisciplinary team environment involving diverse disciplines (e.g. aero-thermal and thermo-structural analyses, RF and IR signature effects of materials and configurations, etc.) Requirements Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 3 years' experience designing mechanisms and structures for challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environments; 5 years preferred Experience with the various elements of mechanical design, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection Experience with AMSE y14.5 and other relevant ASME drafting standards Familiarity with
ISO 9001/AS9100/MIL
specifications as they apply to aerospace structures preferred Experience using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings. Experience with SolidWorks and / or Creo skills is preferred, with the ability to quickly achieve proficiency in both CAD packages
