Position Overview As a Project Engineer , you will manage and coordinate engineering and technical projects, ensuring timely, on-budget, and in-scope delivery. You will be involved in all stages—planning, execution, and monitoring—leveraging both technical expertise and project management acumen. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform job duties. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and substantiate technical packages for FAA-PMA applications. Reverse-engineer and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical aircraft components. Gather dimensional data via automatic and manual measuring techniques. Establish measurement tolerances based on industry best practices and assembly fit review. Create, revise, and review designs using CAD software, including material science and metrology planning. Generate documentation required for regulatory certification (e.g., transmittal letters, certification/test plans, substantiation reports). Collaborate with subject matter experts to adapt and implement procedures for project design changes. Research and review aviation technical information and airworthiness instructions to refine project requirements. Support supply chain activities including new vendor identification, purchasing requirements, and drawing interpretations. Provide input for quality-related issues such as drawing interpretation, inspection methods, and customer feedback. Coordinate First Article and project conformity inspection activities across supply chain, quality, engineering, FAA, and management teams. Engage in Root Cause/Corrective Actions (RCCA) and preventive action initiatives. Prepare technical packages to meet customer or operator specifications. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Minimum 3 years of direct experience with engineered product realization (drawing creation, supplier selection, quality/conformity activities). Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using advanced critical thinking.
Solid technical abilities:
technical writing, CAD programming, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), drawing methodologies. Experience with quality inspection methods (automatic/manual measuring). Understanding of basic manufacturing methods (milling, turning, grinding, brazing, etc.). Familiarity with FAA and other regulatory certification requirements. Demonstrated reverse engineering product development experience. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering experience in aerospace (preferred) or a related industry (e.g., automotive). Understanding of aircraft structural, thermal, vibrational, or electrical principles.
