We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, specializing in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems, components, and products. You will play a critical role in conceptualizing, modeling, and ensuring the functionality and manufacturability of designs while working closely with cross-functional teams to bring ideas from concept to production. Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Create and develop detailed mechanical designs and components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) that meet project requirements and industry standards. Product Lifecycle Management:
Lead the design process from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, and design validation. Engineering Calculations:
Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis, ensuring the integrity and performance of designs. Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, electrical engineering, and quality assurance to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and product reliability. Prototyping and Testing:
Build prototypes, conduct tests, and analyze results to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability. Documentation:
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and engineering reports. Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues throughout the product lifecycle, offering technical solutions to improve efficiency and product quality. Project Management:
Lead design projects, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables are met according to project milestones. Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within Aviation Manufacturing. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools are a plus. Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) and regulatory requirements. Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex design issues. Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail in design, analysis, and documentation. Project Management:
Demonstrated experience managing design projects and working to tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the aviation industry Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly). Understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9001.
