Job Description
Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, activating production tools, and creating launch pads and recovery systems. You will design and analyze mechanical systems for these purposes and demonstrate complete end-to-end project ownership. This includes coordinating the build, testing, and activation of the hardware you design. You will work closely with launch operations teams to ensure that the products delivered meet form, function, and aesthetic expectations. Your well-rounded technical knowledge will be essential in making development decisions based on cost and schedule considerations. Responsibilities Design and build production tools, launch pads, and recovery systems. Coordinate the build, testing, and activation of designed hardware. Work closely with launch operations teams to ensure product expectations are met. Present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership. Demonstrate proficiency in structural sizing, mechanisms, and design. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience using NX, CATIA, Creo, or Solidworks design software package. Experience conducting analysis using ANSYS, ABAQUS, or FEMAP software. Strong understanding of GD&T and its application. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, and specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's degree in mechanical engineering. 1+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, or building mechanical structures. Project management experience in aerospace, industrial, or power generation industry. Proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to lead projects to completion. Passion for hands-on work to enable project completion. Work Environment You will be part of an integrated, collaborative team environment that includes daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers. This role requires a proactive approach and a passion for hands-on work, as well as the ability to work well in a team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cocoa, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
