Job Description

Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Design Miami, FL About Us We are an award-winning, innovative multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm specializing in high-performance building systems and sustainable design solutions. Our team collaborates closely with architects and owners around the world on complex, high-profile projects with a focus on sustainability, healthcare, laboratories, and energy performance within the built environment. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Miami, FL office and contribute to impactful national and international projects from concept through construction completion. Position Overview This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging and technically advanced projects while participating in all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, coordination, construction administration, and project close-out. The ideal candidate will have experience designing HVAC systems for commercial buildings and be comfortable working directly with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary project teams. Responsibilities Design air distribution systems for commercial and institutional buildings Design hydronic HVAC systems Perform cooling and heating load calculations Schedule and select major HVAC equipment Design and specify automatic temperature control systems Prepare construction documents and technical specifications Participate in construction administration activities Assist with project management responsibilities Attend client and project coordination meetings Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants throughout project development Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Engineering preferred (relevant experience will be considered) 2+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for commercial buildings Demonstrated project experience from design phase through construction close-out Experience designing HVAC systems and automatic temperature controls Working knowledge of building codes and energy codes Proficiency with Revit Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to present technical design information to clients and project teams Valid Driver's License Preferred Professional Engineer (P.E.)
