Job DescriptionWe're looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineering Intern to join our engineering team in Fort Lauderdale, United States. In this role, you will support the design and development of mechanical components and systems while gaining hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to projects from concept through prototyping, developing your technical skills and understanding of mechanical design principles.
Assist in creating and modifying CAD models and technical drawings using industry-standard softwareSupport the analysis and optimization of mechanical components and assembliesConduct research on design alternatives and manufacturing processes to support engineering decisionsParticipate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve designsPrepare technical documentation, including design specifications and assembly instructionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot design challenges and identify solutionsSupport prototyping efforts and contribute to testing and evaluation activitiesMaintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standardsCommunicate findings and progress updates to senior engineering staffQualifications
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Siemens NX, or equivalent platformsStrong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and design principlesPerform engineering calculations, tolerance calculations and reportingAbility to interpret and create technical drawings and specificationsExcellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment•
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or simulation softwareKnowledge of manufacturing processes and material propertiesExperience with 3D modeling and visualization techniquesFamiliarity with project management tools and methodologiesPrevious internship or project-based experience in mechanical design or engineeringAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
